Mount Marty added to their impressive preseason resume.
The Lancers remained unbeaten and picked up their third win over a ranked opponent, handing the No. 6-ranked Jamestown College Jimmies their first loss of the season on Saturday in Yankton, S.D.
Mount Marty took advantage of some cold shooting by JC in a 69-59 victory at Cimpl Arena.
"Threes and field goals," Jimmies coach Mark Wiest said. "We were 11 for 27 at the free throw line and 0 for 12 on threes. That kind of explains everything."
The Jimmies scored the first five points of the game, but then the going got tough offensively as Mount Marty built a 38-25 halftime lead.

"Everybody's going to have days like that," Wiest said. "We played a good team. Mount Marty has beaten Bethel, which was ranked No. 8, Black Hills, which was ranked No. 9, and now us. They're doing some things right.
"Right now, they're playing some really good basketball."
It took the Jimmies a while to get up to speed against the Lancers' motion offense.
"We were just a step slow on defense the first half," Wiest said.
And falling behind early was a big factor.
"We dug ourselves too big a hole early in the game," Wiest said. "We had a lackadaisical first half."
The Lancers opened the second half on a 7-2 run, building a 45-27 lead with 18 minutes left. The Jimmies battled back, pulling within five late, but couldn't get any closer.
Michelle Amundson, who scored 28 points the night before in a win over Valley City State, hit for 22 to lead the Lancers (6-0). Cassie Neth had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Jenny Miller added 11 points.

Cori Doubek led the way for the Jimmies, posting a second straight double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Katie O'Neill added 12 points. Kellie Schuneman had eight points and eight assists.
"We played about 10 minutes of really good basketball," Wiest said. "We left all those points on the floor, and we still had a shot to beat them."
The Jimmies (5-1) host Presentation College (S.D.) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center.
