A 20-kill, 22-dig performance by District 6 volleyball senior athlete of the year Megan Moser wasn't enough for Medina/Pingree-Buchanan on Tuesday in Wishek.
Linton/HMB defeated the Thunder 3-1 in the championship match of the District 6 tournament by the set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-13. MPB's Gracie Bohl cleared 1,000 career assists during the match, as the senior finished the game with 27 helpers.
After splitting the first two games, the Lions opened the third with an 8-1 run capped by an Emily Kelsch kill. The Thunder were able to fight back to within three (19-16) with Moser at the service line, but the rally came up short.
Moser finished with a pair of aces, while Bohl and MPB's Alexis Vandeberghe each recorded 17 digs. The Thunder's Abigail Reich chipped in with five blocks.
Medina/PB (18-15) will play LaMoure/LM (30-8) in the quarterfinals of the Region 3 tournament in Linton on Monday at 3:30 p.m. The full schedule can be found below.
