Paxton Mewes lost his undefeated mark on Tuesday at the prestigious Rumble on the Red in Fargo.

The Jamestown High School senior had upped his season record to 18-0, as the top-seeded wrestler at 160 pinned his first two opponents to get to the quarterfinals. Mewes is ranked No. 1 at 160 pounds in North Dakota.

But Minnesota's fifth-ranked wrestler put a stop to the run, as Fairbault's Ryan Mullennex (16-1) edged Mewes 6-4 in overtime. Mewes is the only Jamestown wrestler still alive for today's final action. He can still place in the top eight.

At heavyweight, Jason Schulte lost his opening match, as Michael Kelly of Oakes pinned him in 20 seconds. But the first-year wrestler came back strong, pinning Rosemount's Jake Gainor in 1:41 and then sticking Moorhead's Jonny Mark in 30 seconds. His run came to an end with Benilde-St. Margaret's Jameer Anderson, who won by fall in 49 seconds.

Jamestown's Noah Braun (113), Kyle Dupre (138) and Jakob Browning (145) each came away with one victory before being eliminated.
