Miska chosen GPAC pitcher of week, again

University of Jamestown's Kat Miska has been chosen Great Plains Athletic Conference pitcher of the week for a second time this spring.

University of Jamestown's Kat Miska has been chosen Great Plains Athletic Conference pitcher of the week for a second time this spring.

The conference announced late Monday night Miska earned her second honor of the season after a 2-0 week against Minnesota State University Moorhead and College of Saint Mary.

Miska, a junior from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, fired 11 strikeouts over seven innings in a 4-1 win at NCAA Division II MSU-Moorhead and fanned 15 over six innings in a 10-2 Jimmies' win at Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska. Miska improved to 10-1 with an 0.97 ERA and a .169 batting average against.

The Jimmies (21-7) are scheduled to host Valley City State University on Wednesday (March 31) beginning at 3 p.m. at Trapper Field. Both the Jimmies and the Vikings received votes in the latest NAIA softball coaches' top 25 poll.
