Jonny Carter's four-race winning streak in the WISSOTA Street Stocks at Jamestown Speedway was snapped by uncle Todd on Saturday, July 13.

Jonny Carter was held up battling Royce Jawaski for second just long enough in the 20-lap feature to let Todd Carter build up about a two-second lead over the 20-car field. Jonny slashed the advantage to just 0.472 over the final five laps, but Todd would roll to back-to-back feature victories after taking the checkered flag in Mandan on Friday.

"I kept looking at the lap board and I saw he was in third and Royce was still in front of him," said Todd Carter, who led the final 13 laps after starting sixth to claim his fourth feature victory of 2019. "I wasn't sure if I had a decent lead or not?"

Not too many folks have been successful in holding off Jonny Carter this season. Jonny has piled up 11 feature victories, including all four prior main events Jamestown has squeezed in around five rainouts.

Jonny Carter started behind his uncle in ninth and three early caution flags helped reveal that Jonny's low line was the place to be. Carter used the information to overtake Jawaksi, who started on the outside of the front row, after seven laps.

"I seen 'em down there digging around," Todd Carter said. "So he kinda showed me the way."

The race wrapped up in the nick of time for the winner, as something broke loose in the front end of Todd's car in the closing laps.

"Either a shock came off or an upper control arm broke again," Carter said. "I'm not sure, I haven't looked at it yet."

Jamestown Speedway hosted seven classes on Saturday which produced 132 total cars. A lengthy track resurfacing due to rough conditions pushed the start of the evening's five final features to 10:18 p.m., with a scheduled 105 laps of green-flag racing yet to be completed.

The 20-lap INEX Legends feature was shortened by seven laps after six caution flags pushed the event past its 20-minute time limit. Tye Wilke of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, won in green-white-checkered fashion after starting sixth and leading the final 12 of 13 laps.

Donavin Wiest of Wishek placed fifth and holds a 24-point lead over Dylan Johnson for the lead in track points. Jonny Carter holds a 55-point cushion over Bob Banish Jr. in the streets championship standings.

Dillon Thorpe won a caution-free 15-lap bombers feature after being handed the pole and leading every lap. The race's original polesitter, Travis Edinger of Jamestown, was unable to make the call to the track. Thorpe, the winner of three Jamestown features in 2019, trails Billy Carow by 16 points in the track standings.

A total of 17 yellow flags were scattered throughout the remaining five races, which concluded prior to trophy presentations at 11:48 p.m. Brennon Weight of LaMoure won for the third time in the Midwest modifieds, surviving four caution flags and passing points leader Reise Stenberg for the top spot over a green-white-checkered finish.

Weight started eighth and ran second to Stenberg for 11 laps before using the final restart to make his move. Stenberg has a 70-point lead in the B-mod standings.

Kelsi Pederson has taken a liking to Jamestown Speedway.

The 17-year-old Lightning Sprints driver from East Grand Forks, Minnesota, won here for a second-straight season, sailing past Dexter Dvergsten of Greenbush, Minnesota, on the final lap. Pederson led the only circuit of the 20 that mattered, en route to her third feature win of the season and second in consecutive days.

Pederson also won in Wishek on Friday.

"Going into the heat, the track was so different than last year I didn't really know how to approach it," Pederson said. "But, yeah, I do really like racing here."

Dvergsten overtook Josh Abrahamson for the top spot after seven laps, and recorded the race's quickest time in 14.174 seconds. But Pederson sealed the deal late after starting third.

"I didn't really know how it was going to play out in the end," Pederson said. "(Dvergsten) had a pretty good lead, but towards the end he started to get looser and I was trying to hold it on the bottom on the little traction strip that was down there, and it ended up working out last minute."

Casey Arneson and his blue deuce IMCA Modified have Jamestown's quarter-mile figured out.

The Fargo driver smoked Saturday's 22-car field, rolling out to a 4.428-second lead in winning his fourth Jamestown feature of the summer. Arneson's top lap of 15.529 seconds was over a tenth quicker than the nearest competitor.

"I can't complain at all," Arenson said. "She's running like a cherry here."

Arneson started way back in 10th, but by Lap 9 he was under and past Marlyn Seidler for the lead. Seidler, who's also won in Jamestown this season, led five laps and made Arneson earn his way to the front.

"He was running the smart race -- not through the holes," Arneson said. "I'm a little younger and dumber, so I kind of held her through the holes there and was just trying to get around him and get to the smooth stuff. I gave it everything I had."

Enderlin's John Nord finished second after starting fifth and Jason Grimes motored from 11th on the grid to third. Seidler finished where he started in fourth.

"I just drove the heck out of her and she was sticking, so I was going for everything that I could get," Nord said.

The result tied Nord's best finish after just six shows in 2019.

"I had a really good car last year and, to be honest, we've been struggling a little bit this year," said Nord, who posted two victories and nine top fives in 2018. "But, definitely, the car was a lot better tonight. I didn't have anything for deuce there but had a heckuva good run with Marlyn, Goplen and a couple of others guys.
