Alison Allmer, Colt Rasmussen, Shannon Fee and Brad Wolbert were named the Jamestown Optimist Athletes of the Week.
Allmer, a sophomore runner for the Jamestown cross country team, finished third at the state Class A meet Saturday at Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown. It was her best career finish and the top finish of any Jamestown runner this year.
Rasmussen, an eighth-grader on the boys' cross country team, finished 89th at the state meet, despite it being only his second ever varsity meet. Rasmussen was the second-best runner on the boys' team at the meet.
Fee, a senior for the Jimmie volleyball team, had another productive weekend against Dakota State and Mayville State. Fee recorded 27 kills with a hitting percentage of .523 (4.5 kills per game), while digging up four balls and recording 10 assist blocks. The Jimmies swept both contests.
Wolbert, a senior on the JC men's soccer team, had three goals, including the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Hamline. Wolbert helped lead the Jimmies to a 3-0 road trip with wins over Central Christian and York.
