Mason Lunzman's strong swinging couldn't quite get the win for the Jamestown Post 14 Legion baseball team Saturday morning in Gillette, Wyoming.

Post 14 lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat to the Post 37 Legion team out of Williston at the Hdlacky Legion Baseball Tournament in Gillette, Wyoming Saturday. The game was tied at two with the Keybirds batting in the bottom of the sixth when Kadin Finders singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Lunzman went 2-for-3 with a triple.

The Eagles ended up at 1-2 in the pool play portion of the tournament, beating Gillette Post 42 (10-2) Thursday then dropping to Excelsior #1 (Minn.) 5-3 on Friday. Post 14 will face Denver's Premier West team in semifinal No. 2 tonight at 9:30 p.m.

While it wasn't a win against the Keybirds, the Eagles did end up outhitting Williston 6-4. Unfortunately the team just couldn't regain the lead Gage Orr's sac fly gave them in the second inning.

Orr's pop-up to right field drove in Max Fronk from third to make it 1-0 Eagles. The lead held until Carter Bakken drove in Ashton Collings on a sac fly out to Lunzman in center field to tie the game. Two runs in the bottom of the sixth sealed the deal for the Keybirds.

Landon Miller led things off on the pitcher's mound for Williston, throwing seven innings and allowing six hits and two runs.

Payton Hochhalter pitched a shutout for the Eagles on June 21 against the Bismarck Scarlets but couldn't manage to get the win against the Keybirds. The hurler posted seven strikeouts and allowed just four hits across his 5 2/3 innings tossed.
