Jamestown was again kept from a doubleheader sweep by two bad innings.
Post 14 held a 5-0 advantage in the opener before Williston struck for nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings in the Keybirds' 9-5 Class AA victory Sunday at Ardean Aafedt Stadium in Williston.
Jamestown took its frustrations out on Williston in the nightcap, hammering out 13 hits in a 12-1 five-inning triumph. Two innings had kept Jamestown from sweeping Mitchell, S.D., on Thursday at home.
Post 14 had a 5-2 lead heading into the sixth against Williston in the opener. Shaun Hogan entered in relief of starter Joey Gebhardt, who went five solid but labored through the fifth, getting out with just two runs allowed.
Hogan struggled to keep Williston off the board in the sixth, though, surrendering three hits and two walks before Nate Soulis replaced him. The seven-run inning gave the Keybirds a four-run advantage, and Jamestown wasn't able to answer.

Though his arm didn't meet his expectations, Hogan's bat far exceeded them. The veteran utilityman was red-hot the entire doubleheader, finishing 6-for-7 with a walk, a double, a run batted in and two runs scored from his No. 5 spot.
Jamestown trailed 1-0 after the first inning of the second affair, but exploded for eight runs over the next two including a six-run third that was highlighted by Cody Horn's two-run double. Horn finished the game 2-for-3.
Newcomer Brandon Stahlhut continued to impress. He was a hard out against Mitchell, and he kept it up, going 2-for-3 with four walks, an RBI and two runs scored during the doubleheader. Nate Soulis and Peyton Walker each had two hits in the second game, with Walker belting a two-run single in a four-run fifth.
Brian Wenzel continued his domination of Williston, allowing a leadoff triple to Bailey Zaste, who eventually scored on a groundout. After that, however, he surrendered just an infield single and a hit-batsman. He didn't walk a batter and had six strikeouts, retiring his final nine batters.
Wenzel picked up a pair of wins over Williston in the high school season, allowing one run combined over the two conference games.
Post 14 is back in action on Tuesday, playing host to Dickinson.
