MINOT — At this point in the season, the Jamestown High School baseball team has won every game they've played — and they haven't exactly been close either.
The Jays kept their undefeated streak alive Tuesday night, picking up another two wins over Minot. The Blue Jays topped the Magicians 12-2, 11-8 to move to a perfect 6-0 in the West Region standings. The boys will be off until their tilt against Dickinson scheduled for April 25.
After a couple of quiet innings, the Blue Jays' offense turned up the heat in the top of the third, scoring seven runs to make it a 7-0 ball game. The Jays went on to score five more over the course of the next three frames and since Minot was only able to put up two, the game was called in the sixth inning.
Mason Lunzman and Jackson Walters shared the pitching responsibilities in game No. 1 but the win went to Lunzman who tossed five innings, allowed no runs on four hits and struck out seven. Lunzman was 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in one.
Max Fronk was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs in game No. 1. Walters was .750 with a double and a trio of runners driven in. Payton Hochhalter recorded a triple, drove in a pair and was 0.667 at the plate.

Softball splits with defending state champs
Blue Jay softball team went 1-1 against Bismarck High Tuesday evening.
The Demons took game No. 1 6-3 but the Jays came roaring back and dismantled BHS 14-3 in the second game. Final stats were not available when the Jamestown Sun went to press.
Jamestown now stands at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the WDA. Next up for the Jays will be this weekend's Dickinson Tournament. The team's next conference tilt — and first home game — is scheduled for April 25 against Mandan. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
"We didn't come prepared in the first game," JHS head coach Mike Soulis said. "We played much better in the second game. We made better contact and had better at-bats in the second game. The girls responded and brought some enthusiasm and better focus."
