BISMARCK, N.D. — Things didn't start off too auspiciously for the Bismarck Century baseball team Thursday afternoon and the Jamestown High School squad took full advantage.

The Blue Jays improved their record to a perfect 4-0 with a 3-0, 5-0 sweep of the Patriots. The Jays will be back in action on Tuesday with a road game at Minot. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

After advancing to first on a hit-by-pitch, then to second on a walk and third on another hit-by-pitch, Blue Jay sophomore Thomas Newman took the plunge on a line drive by Brooks Roaldson.

Roaldson's hit turned into a double play but Newman made it home after tagging up to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

Payton Hochhalter's score in the second was followed by four scoreless innings for the Blue Jays but the seven-inning affair ended with a score from junior Tyson Jorissen to seal the deal at 3-0.
