The Jamestown High School boys basketball team started out their outing to Bismarck St. Mary's in pretty good shape Thursday night, but trouble in the paint made it short-lived for the Blue Jays who wound up losing 73-51 to the Saints.
Adam Kallenbach, the Jays leading scorer with 16 points, helped his team get to an early 8-0 lead before Nate Fedorchak got loose, helping the Saints to a 15-point advantage going into the second half.
St. Mary's continued to build their lead in the second half by not allowing the Blue Jays within single digits.
Caydann Cox added 10 points for the Blue Jays. Luke Van Berkom had eight points to go along with 10 rebounds on the night.
Jacoby Lloyd and his squad will face Dickinson at 8 p.m Friday. The Blue Jays (5-6 overall, 4-6 WDA) previously defeated the Midgets 85-79 on Jan. 8 in Jamestown.
