On Saturday morning Annie Nabwe was set to compete in four events at the 2022 West Region Track and Field Meet.

By Saturday afternoon, Nabwe had dropped four first-place finishes.

While the senior standout already qualified to State in a slew of events, Nabwe capped off the 2022 post-season with four West Region champion titles, winning the shot put, javelin, 100 meter dash and the discus. Nabwe set a season record for herself in the 100, crossing the line at 12.36 seconds. The senior's 151 foot, 11-inch throw in the discus contest bettered her own school record by four inches.

Nabwe helped lead the Blue Jay girls team to a third-place with 104.83 points while the guys ended up eighth with 37 points. Bismarck Century wound up taking home the WDA team title. Jamestown is slated to head to the 2022 Class A State Track and Field Meet on Thursday at the Bismarck Community Bowl. State is slated to run Thursday through Saturday.

The title of WDA discus champion didn't just belong to Nabwe.

Thomas Allmer's throw of 155 feet, 8 inches not only qualified him for the state meet, but also crowned him discus champion. Allmer has been a powerhouse in the throws all season and he proved it again on Saturday qualifying for State in the shot put.

Across the field at the sandpits, Brode Hillstrom and Hunter Petersen punched their ticket to the Bismarck Community Bowl with Hillstrom qualifying in long jump and Petersen in the triple jump contest. Devin Beach placed third in the boys' triple jump, turning in a mark of 42 feet, 3.5 inches.

Hillstrom also did his part on the track, nabbing himself a spot in the state 200 meter dash contest.

Where there are hurdles, the Blue Jay fans can expect a first-place finish from Yolanda Nabwe.

WDAs was no different.

The junior sprinter notched the WDA champion title in the 100 hurdles. She also, wasn't all that far behind her older sister in the 100, finishing the straightaway in a season-record time of 12.50 seconds. She also did her part in the relays, helping the Jays' 4x100 meter relay team to a runner-up finish. The team, comprised of Allysah Larson, Hunter Petersen, Julia Skari and Yolanda, finished the 400 meters in 50.62 seconds — 0.03 seconds behind Century.
