Bismarck St. Mary's won two of the three doubles matches on Tuesday, May 14 at Bolinger Tennis Courts as it defeated Jamestown 5-4 in a West Region Association match. The Blue Jays are 3-11 overall and 1-6 in WDA play, while St. Mary's is 2-7 and 2-5.
Jamestown had help from its No. 1-3 singles players as Phoebe Olson (6-2, 3-6, 7-5), Courtney Peterson (6-1, 6-4) and Annie Johnson (6-4, 7-6) all picked up victories. St. Mary's returned the favor with victories from Lauryn Hoesel, Elizabeth Bichler and Kennedy Black.
Peterson and Johnson picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles, but Olson/Lauryn Hibl and Cora Wolsky/Mia Wilson each lost, making the final 5-4.
Tuesday was senior night for Jamestown's Peterson and Johnson.
The Blue Jays finish out their season against Bismarck Legacy on Thursday at the Sanford Sports Complex.
