With Jamestown High School girls soccer seeing Minot in the regular-season opener and finale meant the Blue Jays could gauge their improvement over the last 13 games.

Jamestown, who fell to Minot 8-1 on April 5 at the Jimmie Turf Field, held the Majettes to three less goals on Saturday, May 18, losing to Minot 5-1 at Optimist Soccer Complex.

The Blue Jays (3-8-2 overall, 3-8-1 WDA) inked the No. 6 seed and will take on No. 7 Bismarck Legacy (1-13-0, 1-11-0) Tuesday in a WDA play-in game from Dacotah Centennial Park in Mandan starting at 7 p.m. The winner of that contest takes on third-seeded Mandan in a state-qualifying game on Thursday.

Jamestown trailed Minot 3-0 at halftime, but the Blue Jays' Hannah Merchie briefly cut the deficit to 3-1 with a goal in the 54th minute.
