The 16th-ranked Hastings Broncos women's soccer team scored two early goals and the Jimmies were unable to respond in the semifinals of the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament on Tuesday in Hastings, Nebraska.
The Jimmies fell 2-0 to the Broncos, closing the season at 13-7 overall after a solid 10-2 conference record produced a third-place finish in the regular-season standings.
Hastings' Abby Morillon tallied in the ninth minute of the match and teammate Courtney Doeschot followed suit in the 13th. Jamestown was held without a shot on goal in the first half but produced four shots on the mark after the break.
Freshman midfielder Kamryn Fiscus, the reigning GPAC offensive player of the week, fired two shots on net, while seniors Gabriella Diarte and Sydney Hollingsworth also found the mark but not the mesh.
UJ freshman goalkeeper Alex Nowka made three saves for the Jimmies.
