Sport Shorts: JHS softball splits in Bismarck

Jays split in Bismarck

The Jamestown High School fastpitch softball team opened the season Monday, April 1, earning a split against Bismarck High at Sanford Sports Complex in Bismarck.

The Blue Jays won 11-10 before falling to the Demons 13-2 in five innings. Jamestown's next scheduled action is April 12 in Watford City.

The Jays are ranked 10th in a preseason poll conducted by North Dakota Softball All Stars. Dickinson was voted No. 1 in Class A, while Central Cass tops the Class B poll.

Soccer matches moved to UJ

Jamestown High School will begin the girls soccer season hosting a pair of matches at the Jimmie Turf Field on the University of Jamestown campus.

The Blue Jays will host Minot on Friday (April 5) at 7:30 p.m. and Fargo North on Saturday (April 6) at noon. The Blue Jays have been picked sixth of seven teams in the 2019 WDA preseason coaches' poll.
