JHS softball splits in Minot

Jamestown High School softball held off a late Minot rally on Thursday, April 18, to defeat the Majettes 18-15 (8 innings) in game 2 at the South Hill Complex in Minot. The Magettes defeated the Blue Jays 13-2 in 5 innings during the first game.

Jamestown held a 12-2 lead after the top of the third, but Minot scored 13 of the next 16 runs to take a 15-14 lead heading into the seventh. Sadie Meissner kept the Blue Jays alive, however, with an RBI single that scored Jenna Fischer. Jamestown tacked on three in the eighth and hung on from there.

Jamestown has its first home games of the year on Tuesday with a doubleheader against Bismarck Century starting at 4:30 p.m. The Blue Jays split a non-conference doubleheader with the Patriots on April 16 with a 4-3 win and 10-2 loss.
