Rose Wendel and Katrina Just knew which two Loboes to feed in Tuesday night's Region 3 quarterfinal -- Heidi Steffes and Nateal Rodin.
Steffes and Rodin helped the LaMoure/Litchville-Marion volleyball team go to five sets with South Border in the opening round of the Region 3 tournament. LLM eventually fell to the Mustangs but did not go down without a fight at the net.
Steffes, a freshman middle for the Loboes, cleared the tape for 13 kills while on the outside Rodin hammered seven home. The duo combined for nine rejections at the net. Molly Musland, LLM's No. 2 hitter, added eight to the team's kill total.
LLM just couldn't stop Emily Jochim as she drove 17 past the Loboes' blocks and defense. Jochim also was busy in the back half of the court popping up eight balls to setter Kylie Stock.
South Border advanced to the Region 3 tourney semifinals where they will face District 5's No. 1 seed, Carrington, on Thursday at 7 p.m.
