Merchants look to defend 'AAA' title
The Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants will look to defend its state Class AAA amateur baseball title beginning Saturday at Jack Brown Stadium. The Jamestown Elks and Maville will be joining the Merchants in the three-team tournament.
Sunday will feature a play-in game at noon between the No. 2 and No. 3 seed for a chance to play the top-seeded team at 2 p.m.

Look for 'The Huddle' in papers Aug. 24

The Jamestown Sun's annual area football preview magazine, The Huddle, will be distributed in next Friday's (Aug. 24) edition of The Sun.
This year's magazine focuses on University of Jamestown's move to the Great Plains Athletic Conference, along with numerous looks inside the area's high school preseason practices, including Jamestown, Carrington, Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter and more.
The high school 9-man football season gets underway tonight. Area games include Napoleon-G-S at Finley-Sharon-Hope-Page, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion hosting defending state champion Wyndmere-Lidgerwood and Kidder County hosting New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin.
