Carrington climbs into rankings
The Carrington boys basketball team (17-2) finally got into the rankings at No. 8 in this week's Class B boys basketball poll. The Cardinals got a pair of wins over Harvey-Wells County and Four Winds-Minnewaukan this weekend.
St. John remained in the top spot and Hillsboro-Central Valley was right behind the it for second place.

Jimmies win NSAA championship
University of Jamestown women's track and field won the North Star Athletic Association conference title by 3.5 points over Dickinson State.
Senior Kaiann Arellano and freshman Beth Alexander were co-Most Valuable Field Performers.

Arellano, a Jamestown local, was all-conference in the high jump, 60-meter hurdles and pentathlon.
Alexander, from Devils Lake, was all-conference in long jump, triple jump, pentathlon and a part of the 4x400 relay team.
Other all-conference athletes were: Paulina Haak (weight throw), Amber Posner (5,000-meter), Hannah Christenson (400, 600), Kylee Voigt (400), Lindi Chadwick (800). Voigt, Julia Johnson, Alexander and Christenson were all-conference in the 4x400 relay.
First-year head coach Megan Kuehl was the NSAA Coach of the Year.
On the men's side, the Jimmies finished in fourth place.
Matthew Young and Aaron Ford finished back-to-back in the one mile race with times of 4:24.03 and 4:27.98, respectively. Young also won the 3000 with a time of 9:08.31.
Charlie Foster also finished second in the 600 with a time of 1:23.32.
Seven athletes will be headed to the NAIA Indoor Nationals beginning on March 1.
