Noah Fredrickson's 284 passing yards and four touchdowns weren't enough to clinch the win against Kidder County on Saturday.
The Wolves outscored the Outlaws 44-26 in the first round of the 9-man football playoffs in Steele. Kidder County will face Beach in the second round of the playoffs Saturday in Steele at 2 p.m.
Fredrickson threw up a 26-yard pass to Lane Veach for the first points of the game but the Wolves rebounded with an 11-yard run from John Wagner to tie up the game at six apiece. Payton Cauthon then put the Wolves ahead six points off a 21-yard run late in the first.
The Wolves did not give up the lead the rest of the game.
Cauthon scored three of Kidder County's six touchdowns and had 135 yards off nine carries. Blake Pfaff rushed for 149 yards off 18 carries.
