Arellano wins weekly NSAA award
The University of Jamestown's Kaiann Arellano has been named the North Star Athletic Association's women's track and field athlete of the week.
Arellano qualified and placed first in the high jump at the Sioux City Relays. Arellano cleared 5 feet, 6 inches to qualify for the NAIA outdoor championships next month in Gulf Shores. She's also qualified in the 100-meter hurdles.
JHS baseball game Friday postponed
Jamestown's baseball game against Williston on Friday at Jack Brown Stadium has been postponed.

Optimist athletes of the week
Ben Pfeiffer, Jess Schultz, Kylee Voigt and Logan Lund were named Jamestown Optimist Club's athletes of the week.
Pfeiffer, a sophomore on the JHS boys track and field team, placed second in both the 300 hurdles (44.21) and the 110 hurdles (16.78) at the TK Relays in Moorhead.
Schultz, and junior on the JHS girls tennis team, helped the Blue Jays secure a win at No. 2 doubles against Williston and at No. 3 doubles against Valley City. Schultz was playing three spots above her normal average.
Voigt, a freshman on the UJ women's track and field team from Jamestown, placed in three of four events at the Sioux City Relays. She placed sixth in the 400 (59.90), and helped the 400-meter relay team (51.10) and the 800 relay team (1:47.28) finish eighth and fourth, respectively.
Lund, a senior on the Jimmie baseball team from Tolna, N.D., allowed just one run on five hits, while striking out six, during a 3-1 complete-game victory over Mayville State.
Area players on Shrine Bowl roster

The annual Shrine Bowl rosters have been tentatively set.
The games, matching the outstanding seniors from eastern North Dakota against outstanding seniors from western North Dakota, will be played July 16 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. The 11-man game will be played at 4 p.m., with the 9-man game to follow at 7.
