JHS tennis to host play-in
The Jamestown High School girls tennis team will host Bismarck Century on Monday, May 20, in West Region tournament play-in action.
The match, which will begin at 6 p.m. at Bolinger Tennis Courts, will be a 3-2 format. The winning team will advance to the West Region tournament scheduled for May 23-25 in Minot as the eighth seed.
Gun Club offering shooting classes
Jamestown's Buffalo City Gun Club is offering beginner shooting classes and instruction for all ages to promote the sport of trapshooting.
The class will be offered June 3 and June 5 at 6 p.m. No shooting will be conducted during the classes. Subjects to be covered include: range safety, trapshooting procedures and individual shooting tips.
Participants completing the class will be given the opportunity to become members of the club and use its facility at a lower cost. The Buffalo City Gun Club is a public facility and is open to the general public with no membership restriction.
Blue Jays football camps
Jamestown Blue Jays middle school and youth football camps will be held May 20-22 at the Jamestown Middle School green space.
The middle school camp for grades 6-7 will be conducted between 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., with the youth camp for grades 3-5 to follow between 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Registration is $50 for middle school and $45 for youth, which covers instruction, a camp T-shirt and shorts. Helmets and pads will be provided for middle school, while the youth camp is a non-padded fundamentals camp.
