MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins have removed utility player Brian Dinkelman and left-handed pitcher Phil Dumatrait from their 40-man roster, leaving four spots open.

Both players were assigned to Rochester, the team's Triple A team.

Dinkelman batted .301 in 73 at-bats, with 22 of his 23 hits being singles. Dumatrait was 1-3 with a 3.92 ERA in 41 1/3 innings out of the bullpen.

Both players could be resigned to minor league deals and invited to spring training, but both also could decline the assignment and become free agents.
