The University of Jamestown has hired a new football coach.
Josh Kittell will assume the position after he completes his duties as a member of the North Dakota State University football coaching staff. NDSU will play for the FCS national championship on Jan. 9, in Texas.
Kittell is a 2008 graduate of the University of Jamestown and a native of Garrison, N.D.
“We are excited to welcome Josh back to his alma mater to lead the Jimmie football program into the future,” said Sean Johnson, athletic director for the University of Jamestown. “He was one of our greatest leaders on the field as a player, did an excellent job as our offensive coordinator in 2014 and we have confidence that he will be successful as our next head coach.”
Kittel was a two-year starter at the quarterback position for the Jimmies and compiled a 16 and 5 record. The 2007 Jimmie team played in the NAIA playoffs.
