The Blue Jay volleyball team swept the Watford City Wolves 25-11, 25-18, 25-16 on Friday night in Watford City, and every member of the Jays' 15-player roster saw the court.

"It was probably closer than it needed to be, but at the same time, we got a lot of kids in," JHS head coach Sara Hegerle said. "They're good athletes and they do a great job here. Their defense was solid against us, so it took a little bit more work than what we were hoping for but it was still a good match."

Jessa Anderson led the Blue Jays up front and sent 11 kills to the floor while middle Ella Roaldson added eight more for the Jays. Junior outside Grace Hegerle put seven down against the Wolves and junior outside Kaylee Panchot totaled four kills.

Current starting setter Kameron Selvig helped the offense out with 24 assists. Freshman Katie Traumbauer played half a set at setter and came away with three assists. Hegerle said she was happy with the win but was not surprised by her team's performance.

"Our top three hitters got the ball. All three got the highest kills, it's just the same story different night," Hegerle said. "What we've been working on is having a higher kill percentage. So Jessa's percentages were higher, Grace's percentages were higher, so that's a postive"

On defense, libero Rachel Schiele defended the Blue Jays' side of the court recording 23 digs and Hegerle kept 11 balls in the air. Defensive specialist Addi Douty added eight passes to the books while Courtney Mack and Kaylee Panchot totaled five digs. Douty, Schiele and Selvig led from the service line with two aces apiece.

"I am proud of them for all being ready to go in the game," Hegerle said. "Every single person that's on our team is valuable and that they all got to contribute in some way. They deserve to play, they work hard every day in practice ... it's just nice to give everybody a chance to contribute."

The Blue Jays play the Coyotes in Williston today (Saturday).
