The Kidder County volleyball team kept the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan defense busy Thursday night in Pingree.

The Thunder’s steady defense and fast tempo offense led the team to a four-set 25-14, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19 victory.

Allison Thomas, Alaina Bosche and Abby Helm combined for 68 digs in the back three. Setter Lilly Bohl added 10 more to the team dig total while Emily Carlson kept 12 balls alive.

It wasn’t just the defense that got the Thunder their fifth win of the season.

Calli Mack topped the kill charts with 15 balls smashed at the net while Thomas swung for 12 on the outside. Middle hitter Ryleigh Martin was a force to be reckoned with in the middle slamming 11 down to the floor.

LaMoure/LM improves to 6-5

The Loboes topped Enderlin in four sets (16-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-22) at home Thursday evening. The loss puts Enderlin at 3-6 overall and the Eagles remain winless in the Region 1 standings.

Heidi Steffes was the Loboes' big answer up front against the Eagles' defense. The freshman middle executed on all seven of her attack attempts to lead the Loboes. Molly Musland added five to the kill total while Mollie Robbins and Nateal Rodin combined for six more.

Steffes and Rodin also recorded eight denials at the net.

While Steffes and Rodin were powering the front row, the back three were putting plenty of balls down themselves.

Libero Risa Rasmusson served up a whopping eight aces to lead LLM from the backline. Kierra Weight and Katrina Just each tallied four more unpassable serves.

LLM will travel to Edgeley/Kulm-Montpelier (0-6) on Tuesday while Enderlin will head to Maple Valley (2-5) on Monday.
