BLUE JAY ROUNDUP: JHS splits pair of duals in Grand Forks

Jamestown High School wrestling lost its opening match Friday at the Sertoma Dual but rallied to win a dual over Wahpeton to close out the day in Grand Forks. The Jays won eight of the 10 contested matches against the Huskies and won 64-15. Aden Braun (106 pounds) and Talor Huebner (120) both posted a 2-0 record for the day with pins in both matches. Joel Bowman and Noah Braun also went undefeated for the day, while Ethan Bowman posted a 2-0 record without stepping foot on the mat.

The Jay also got pins from Aaron Mack, Colton Mewes, and Johnny Browning.

Majettes get by JHS girls hockey

Jamestown High School girls hockey couldn't contain Minot's first line of Alyssa Aguirre, Carson Abrahamson and O'Malley Eslinger on Friday night.

The trio accounted for all three of the Majettes' goals at the Pepsi Rink in Minot, including the game-winner by Carson Abrahamson at the 11 minutes, 55 second mark in the third period. Minot would go on to defeat Jamestown 3-2. The Blue Jays are now 0-3-1 on the season.

Minot's Aguirre and Eslinger each scored less than five minutes into the first period to take a early 2-0 lead. Jamestown's Ella Roaldson cut the deficit in half later in the first frame.

After a scoreless second period, the Blue Jays' Alexis Kirkaby tied the game at 2-2 in the third period. Abrahamson would later score the game-winner.

Jamestown continues a two-day road swing today in Williston at 6:45 p.m. The Blue Jays play beforehand at 4:15 p.m.
