JHS wrestling ranked fifth

Jamestown High School wrestling dropped from fifth to sixth in the latest North Dakota Class A Wrestling Coaches' Poll released Friday, Jan. 11.

Bismarck High (1), Dickinson (2), Bismarck Century (3), Minot (4) and Grand Forks Central (5) are all ahead of the Jays.

All eight Blue Jay grapplers ranked in the individual Dec. 13 poll remain. They include: eighth-grader Aden Braun (106 pounds, ranked 2nd), senior Ethan Bowman (132, 5), eighth-grader Colton Mewes (138, 5), junior Noah Braun (152, 6), junior Johnny Browning (160, 6), senior Aaron Mack (182, 4), senior Samuel Krebs (195, 6) and senior Paul Vandal (220, 5).

Shoes for scholars

Jamestown Dollars for Scholars (www.jamestown.dollarsforscholars.org) is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from January to April 2019 to raise scholarship funds for Jamestown High School seniors.

Those interested can donate gently worn, used and new shoes during today's (Jan. 12) Class A basketball doubleheader between Jamestown and Bismarck Century beginning at 5:45 p.m. at Jerry Meyer Arena. Donation boxes can also be found at Legacy Fitness, James River Senior Center and AAUW Bookstore/RSVP Dakota Store.
