A 51-year-old Colorado spruce is cut Thursday at 421 Fourth Ave. S.E., Jamestown, for use as the Christmas tree outside the Jamestown Civic Center. Alan Spanier, owner of the tree, said the tree had gotten too large and was getting too close to the home and sidewalk. As a Christmas tree, everyone can enjoy it, he added.
