Incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.
Before the semi got beside the Ford pickup, the wind flipped the Ford's trailer and it became detached, pulling the back end of the Ford to the right and causing the Ford to rotate left into the southbound lane, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
The incident occurred near mile marker 41.6 as a Western Star pulling a trailer was passing a Ford F150 pulling an empty enclosed trailer.
"The vast majority of North Dakota legislators call themselves pro-life," writes columnist Jim Shaw. "They’re all about protecting the unborn. If they are really pro-life, they should pass a primary seat belt law and save lives of the born."
Of the 91 motor vehicle fatalities thus far in 2022 in North Dakota, 75 were males, according to the state transportation department's Vision Zero program.

An investigation determined that the driver's phone records showed that he ended a phone conversation 10 seconds before the crash and that he accessed a Snapchat application on his phone 5 seconds before the crash, according to court documents filed in Cass County District Court.
The crash occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.
A Ford pickup truck rear-ended a Chevrolet pickup truck, forcing the Chevrolet into the ditch, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said. The Ford also went into the ditch and rolled over.
