MINNEAPOLIS — Gordon Hayward enjoyed his best game of the season, scoring 30 points while also adding nine rebounds and eight assists to lead the visiting Boston Celtics to a 118-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis on Saturday night, Dec. 1. The Celtics extended their modest win streak to three games, getting the last two on consecutive nights. The T-wolves saw their season-best win streak snapped at four games.
ST. PAUL — Nazem Kadri scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period, and Zach Hyman had two goals as the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-3 in St. Paul, Minn., on Saturday night, Dec. 1. Kadri scored his eighth goal this season at 16:40 of the third on a puck deflected in front of the goal after a strong rush by Connor Brown. Hyman added his sixth goal of the season into an empty net at 19:04 of the third.
MINNEAPOLIS — Jordan Murphy scored 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds Friday night, Nov. 30, as Minnesota built up an 18-point second half lead, then held off a furious Oklahoma State comeback for an 83-76 win at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Isaiah Washington added 15 points for the Golden Gophers, who improved to 6-1. Freshman Gabe Kalscheur tallied 14, including a 3-pointer with 4:34 left that gave Minnesota a 77-68.
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dak Prescott passed for 248 yards and a touchdown, and cornerback Jourdan Lewis intercepted a side-arm pass by Drew Brees late in the fourth quarter to lift the Dallas Cowboys to a 13-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints Thursday night, Nov. 29, at AT&T Stadium.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Riley Nash's first goal as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets proved to be the game-winner in a 4-2 victory over the visiting Minnesota Wild on Thursday, Nov. 29. At the 4:34 mark of the second period, Nash collected his breakthrough goal after redirecting a Zach Werenski attempt toward the net. Nash also recorded an assist, giving him as many points on Thursday as he had in his previous 23 games since joining the Blue Jackets as a free agent last summer.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Robert Covington scored 21 points in three quarters of action to lead a balanced offense that saw seven Minnesota players score in double figures as the Timberwolves routed the visiting San Antonio Spurs 128-89 on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
ST. PAUL -- Josh Archibald scored his first two goals of the season, the second on a breakaway midway through the third period, and the Arizona Coyotes broke a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 comeback victory over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Coyotes, who had only one shot on goal in the second period, scored three goals in the first nine minutes of the third period, two by Archibald and one by Michael Grabner, to overcome a 3-1 deficit.
HOUSTON — Demaryius Thomas recorded two touchdown receptions, and Lamar Miller set a franchise record with his second-quarter dash as the Houston Texans extended their winning streak to eight games with a 34-17 victory over the visiting Tennessee Titans on Monday, Nov. 26. Thomas posted his first multi-touchdown game since Week 15 of 2015 by finding the end zone for the first time with the Texans (8-3), who maintained their two-game lead over the Indianapolis Colts (6-5) in the AFC South.
CLEVELAND — Karl-Anthony Towns scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Monday, Nov. 26, to lead the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves to a 102-95 win over Cleveland. Robert Covington scored 24 points on 8 of 12 from the field, including 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Derrick Rose came off the Minnesota bench and continued to shoot well, hitting 6 of 13 and finishing with 12 points and four assists.
LAS VEGAS - Phil Mickelson birdied the fourth playoff hole in fading light to win "The Match" against Tiger Woods and claim the $9 million winner-takes-all prize in Friday's pay-per-view event at Shadow Creek Golf Course. With temperatures dipping into the 50s and the pair playing a 93-yard makeshift playoff hole from the practice putting surface back to the 18th green, Mickelson put his third attempt at the hole inside 5 feet.
